About

After four years in operation ALULA TON SERIEN ceased to function as
a label for recordings and a series of concerts in 2008. Our exploration
of concepts and performance possibilities relating to sound art and
electroacoustic music continued nonetheless.
In 2010 we decided to reanimate ALULA TON SERIEN in a different form,
functioning mainly as a net-based framework for collaborative and
modular concert practice.

This practice is based on theoretical questions, meaning the term series
used here denotes one particular problem with all it's realizations.
Most characteristic is it's modular structure, which is reflected less on the
technical but primarily on the compositorical level or, more precisely,
on the level of collaborative formulation.

ALULA TON SERIEN aren’t fixed, finalized pieces but construed as open
processes that are realized in diverse forms, formats and constellations.
Because of their modular structure each realization can be adapted to
particular performance conditions.

Modular collaboration enacts non-hierarchical and decentralized forms of
organization   that put paid to the concept of the single composing genius.
The collaborators interact as equals in the formulation of modules.
In concerts and installations these modules are then brought together to
produce unique and unrepeatable situations.
